Wham, Bam, Thank You Ma’am!

I jumped right in to the Ultimate Bet 9:15 p.m. Freeroll with a pocket pair of Aces.  I followed a call of All-in with 5 other players. There were some really crazy hands, like a six-eight unsuited and a King-three, etc.  One player had A of clubs-10 of diamonds and the flop came as all low clubs, no face cards or fanfare.  The Turn was another low club and the River was ??  I was too awe-struck with the loss to notice.  That was a Wham, Bam, Thank You Ma’am game as far as I am concerned!

After that, all I could find that I could get into was a Full Tilt 250 play-chip tourney where I brooded over my other loss as I had plenty of time to do so with no hands coming in.  I finally caught another pocket pair of Aces and lost them to a pair of Tens on the table that went very nicely with the other Ten my opponent had in his hand.  So much for Aces in the hole!

After that, I just didn’t see the need to continue suffering for the cause and I gave up and went to bed.  Maybe next time! $Maxiecat$

Hey Maxie… You all inspired me to start again from 0, just to see if I could do it… I had about 500k playchips in my account - did the 500k $40 freeroll - got my AA (allin pf) cracked by some really disgusting straight (10 7o, I believe - no idea why the dude was making a move with that crap, he only slightly had me outchipped) + went out in 25 (only had to hang on to 18 - oh well…). So I was back to about 0, and just for fun, I decided to see how quickly I could get the chips back up. I’m now up to over 1 mil playchips, just playing the 9 player sng’s on FT in about a week. I didn’t keep my logs, so I don’t know exactly how many games I played, but it didn’t seem like that many. I cheated on my system a bit when I started doing the 100k’s with only 400k chips (only 4 buy-ins), but I felt like the games were soft enough that I could take the risk. Gonna play the 500k’s again when I get to over 2 mil (which shouldn’t take too much longer) and try to get a small bankroll going again. I’m still at about $100 with my old bankroll (down a bunch - getting eaten alive lately - another reason I’m taking this little break). Tried a 2700 $T tourney this morning - out at 125 - those things are painful. Ran 99 into AA, then AJ into AK on the same guy - doubled him up twice, knocked me out. I’m really impressed with your persistence in those things. You need to get super lucky in the mid section to stay alive - I guess like any big tourney. The turbo format makes them such pushfests that you have to be able to gobble the shorties but not get hurt if they win the races. Good luck, hope to hear about more of your exploits soon!

Well Jeff, my exploits have been short and not so sweet of late. I can’t seem to stay in the game any more, much less get anywhere. My worst enemy seems to be the dreaded River Flush (not in my hand) as my posts will show. At any rate, I am in this thing and staying in whether I leave with a bankroll or not! At least I can play and relax an unwind. Great job on the chipstack and remember that your $100 bankroll is far better than mine!
