Play Time…

There hasn’t been much of it lately….time to play that is. And when I have time the games are nothing enticing. I have bounced in and out of a few Stud H/L games and picked up a few chips. I missed today’s $100k event on PokerStars, dumb me just forgot!

I did watch Linda play the $100k while I worked doing about 5 things at once including jumping in a 2/4 S H/L game. I won $45 and quit when the game got dead. Awhile later I got in a 1/2 game and picked up a few more chips. Then with my work finally done I got in another 2/4 until it was time to put steaks on the grill and feed the bear (hubby).  No, he is not of the grizzly variety…more the cuddly teddy kind.Glinda1.jpg

A couple of games I bounced in, missed 3 draws and left. That seems to be my bellweather, missing 3 good draws..I know I better leave. That keeps me from losing much in any game.  Unfortunately there are a few good dames right now on PokerStars I want to play but they will have to wait for me, until other things get done. Basically my cards have been running ok and I made a few nice hands like a 6-4 low and Ace hi flush to hog the pot.

I haven’t played any tournaments, when I work and play I feel my game suffers because I am not watching closely everything that goes on at the table. As Maxie says, lose your focus and you just lose!

After a few hit and runs the bankroll is finally out of the $1200 yoyo phase and now is $1,427. Look out Chris I am hot on your heels!!

Grab a chair and say hi…on PokerStars!

Glenda, how do you decide what games to compete in at actual events, wand what games to play online only? Disclose what you can… I know the stakes are high in both the playing and strategic business perspective.

    Hi Greg,
I don’t play live anymore hardly at all, when I do it is in a poker room I used to work in, N. Calif a 1/2 or 2/5 NLH game. I haven’t found any live games I want to play in as I prefer Stud H/L. And I really hate tournaments, so I wouldn’t go out of my way to play any live ones!

How I choose games on line is by the % of players in the pot and the pot size. Many times smaller limit games have much bigger pots, so I don’t play any certain limit.

As for online tournaments, I play many of them, a couple of the best are the Sunday $100k on PokerStars for only $11 and the daily $3.30 Re-buy $30k guaranteed. If you get lucky you can really win a wad of cash (so far I haven’t got lucky)!

My advice is play what you like at the limit you are comfortable with, at the best game available (pot size & players in the pot). Only you know your skill & comfort level and there is no shame in playing small limit games…you can laugh all the way to the bank!

Thanks for reading and if you see me on PokerStars pop in and say hi!
I have no secrets…so feel free to ask me anything (about poker) I just can’t guarantee I have the answer :-)
