I played in a $2.20 180 sng before the $11 buy-in $200K guarantee.  About the fourth hand, I was dealt Q-Q.  I raised the field, got raised by one gent that had smooth called, I called, the flop was all little, he bet about half the size of the pot, I went all-in, he had K-K.  Busted! (more…)

I barely crawled into the money in one of them.  It was nice though, to end up winning a $ or 2…actually $1.45.  When I was about 200 out of the $, I had about $5K left and the blinds-antes were too big for what I had.  I resisted the urge to plunge with K-J spades.  Perhaps I’m supposed to play that hand at that point after a long dry spell of non-playable deadwood, but I folded instead and watched the board bring nothing that would improve K-J and I would have been out on that hand instead of making it through 3200 other players to find a small bit of gristle left on the knuckle bone of a dead Card Fairy. When you’re standing at the edge of the black hole with the debris filled wind hitting you in the face as broken Aces and crushed Kings body slam you out over the edge of blackness that has turned into a bottomless pit of broken draws, premium pair beats, and River one-outers, it’s hard to believe any of it will ever change. I jumped into two different 180 player SNGs today, one for $2.20 and one for $4.40.  I busted in the $2.20 when I picked up 9-9 and ran into A-A.  I’m on the run from hell.  I tried to beat A-Q offsuit with K-K in the 2nd tourney.  It’s the 2nd time in 2 days that I had a player willing to put all their chips in with A-Q.  (more…)

I don’t get it. I used to think I knew how to play poker. Now I know that I have no idea. I understand going in to a multi-way pot with 6-5 suited or J-10 suited or something that connects and is suited, or even a small pair because of pot odds, etc.; I don’t feel as distressed when someone shoots the guts out of my A-A or the boobs off of Q-Q or the Cowboys off their horse in these situations. I do feel distressed, angry, upset, pissed off, down right damn indignant when I keep getting into a heads-up situation and getting beat. (more…)

The BR has been bouncing around between $1,000 and $1300 for over 3 months. My highest was $1350 and lowest was $1011 which was last week.  Tournaments, ring games, turbos I have been trying them all! (more…)

Sometimes that’s the only way to view poker, there are few winners and a lot of losers.  Very few stories are ever winning stories but there are a lot of bad beat and losing stories.  Right now it would be impossible for me to talk winning story because I simply cannot win.  I’d like to add that I’m not crying about it.  I am pissed though.  Nothing I do seems to change anything.  It’s an unbearable bad run of non-playable cards from any position, and the occasional glimmer of hope in a big pocket pair or Ace-Face just gets shot down repeatedly.
