What Changes in the World?
Not much. It’s still hot as hell in the desert. A-K still can’t beat Q-10 offsuit and Q-Q can’t beat A-2 of hearts. It’s not pretty. I feel like road kill being served up on a wood plank at the local “So You Thought You Knew How To Play” bar and grill.
I can’t figure how to get out of the slump. This is heads-up kids. Not multi-way action. How do you beat these hands or better yet, how do you find a way to not get beat with the hands I’m playing? If I had a
machine gun and a box of grenades I don’t think I could beat the game.
I’ve had a very busy run lately and it’s kept me from playing…not a bad thing when you consider that I simply cannot win. Sometimes not playing or getting involved in the emotional torment is a good thing. I am definitely emotionally tormented right now. I really do understand the game…I think…er…ahhh…maybe I don’t. I just know that if I picked Q-10 to call someone’s all-in raise with, or A-2 (even if it’s suited), I wouldn’t win the hand. I watch the cards on the board after most of the hands I fold and the cards I pitch aren’t winners. But here’s the real crack-up…the cards I’m playing aren’t winners either. What’s the answer?
Give up the game? Perhaps. But what kind of fun is that? I like to play poker. I know if I don’t book a win soon that I’ll be back in freeroll land looking for a mini hit of a few pennies so I can get back in action. But in the meantime, I’m already registered in the PokerWorks H.O.R.S.E tourney that clearspine has set up for us:
“The tourney is up, once more under Poker Works Family, with password “donkeys”. Sunday, September 7, at 21:00, $5 + .50 HORSE.”
And it’s at PokerStars. Please join us.
