My Return From The Black Hole Void
Yes, I am still out here constant readers, I just went AWOL for a while. Unplanned absence and then planned and unplanned again! I do apologize for the lack of warning and update, but instead of me running my life, lately my life has been running me!
It started with out of state guests that were here in the middle of my personal planning for my parents 60th anniversary shindig and also amidst a very busy week in general. I then traveled to Georgia to implement and co-host the big event and traveled back home to find that something other than my personal belongings made it home with me. I was ill for days, majorly dragging butt! However, I am back now and will try to make up for my extended absence.
My first attempt at getting back into the poker swing of things did not end up to badly (at least not for me). Keep in mind that among the ladies chasing Chris Ferguson, this lady is lucky to find a leftover footprint in the sand that may give me a hint as to which way the man went!
I got into the Full Tilt Tourney Dollar Freeroll with 2699 other people. I had been sitting patiently for not so terribly long when I was dealt a K,J of Hearts and cautiously called a $100 bet. Then someone further down the line went All-In with their 390 chips and I hung in there with him along with two other players.
The flop brought me a pair of Kings and one of my opponents went All-In with 400 chips. I followed as did the remaining player with chips. There were no hearts on the table so no help there. The Turn was a 9 and both of us with chips left checked. The River was a 9 also and my opponent went All-In with his remaining 300 chips and I said what the heck at this point as I had a lot in to protect. My two pair won, much to my delight! This supported the needs of my chip stack greatly as I now had 13,000 chips and was holding the rank of 30 out of 1800 players remaining in the tourney.
I did a whole lot of sitting after this as absolutely nothing came my way that even resembled a playable hand! I finally caught and A,6 of Hearts as BB and had around 12,000 chips so even though I had won no hands, I had lost little in comparison. I flopped a flush with a 2,5,4 of hearts. I was one card from a straight flush. I bet 1000 chips and was called by one player. The Turn was a King and the player two doors down went All-In with about 15,000 chips. I was thinking he must have caught three of a kind and I turned out to be correct in that as he was holding a pair of Kings. However, the River was a 5 which nicely boosted his hand into a Full House and I was out of the game! I finished #116. $Maxiecat$
