Tourney Play Day

Today was a long playday for me, played in three tourneys on PokerStars.  First was the 200k guaranteed where I won about 4 pots, three of them with QQ. As is the norm lately, I flat had nothing to play, but since these events have a 1st place of around $24,000 I keep trying!

So I didn’t come in anywhere near the money in the 200k but did last past first break, which seems to be a major accomplishment for me. The other tourney I played at about the same time was the MDM to win a piece of Dennis Phillips. I was actually catching cards and doing good in that one, but every player except 3 of us were sitting out. So, I really had to pay attention so I wouldn’t screw up and fold to a sitter-outer. One player DID screw up when he had the SB and folded to the BB who was sitting out. Dumb move and the sitter outer actually came in the $$ because of it. So here is how that tourney ended up for me:

PokerStars Tournament #110275641, No Limit Hold’em
Buy-In: 500 FPP
10935 players
$100000.50 added to the prize pool by PokerStars.com
Total Prize Pool: $100000.50
Tournament started - 2008/11/02 - 16:00:00 (ET)

Dear PokerHack07,

You finished the tournament in 495th place.
A $31.50 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

It would have been nice to actually have something as the tourney got into the big blinds, but I didn’t of course, so I was 395 away from winning a piece of the MDM player…boohoo. At least I won enough to cover my buy-in I spent in the 200k tourney.

From there it was the PokerWorks Family HORSE fun event. Everyone was friendly, chatting and that was fun, my cards were NOT fun. I had 3 flushes beat in Omaha, with the board pairing on the river and never had anything else except a AQh in HE, I raised with and Linda called. Flop was garbage and when she bet I folded. That was it and I busted 7th without having drug a single chip. BUT we had new faces in the game and that was very nice! From there I played 25c/50c Stud H/L and I lost $1.75 and quit after draws like 3-4-5-6 caught 6-4-9.  Figuring my cards were going to keep running that way I gave up.

We have about 11 days left to this challenge and I will continue to blog when I play, I just haven’t played since forever and no clue when I will have time again.  It has been a very interesting year I can say that!
