Online poker rooms

Glenda’s Bio

My life long love of poker started when I was 28. Wow that seems so long ago, too long!

My introduction to poker happened in 1980. I was recently divorced and moved from L.A. back to Northern California where my family was. Since I had no set career path, I found myself looking for a job that would pay more than minimum wage. What I found was the small poker room in the back of a bar where they played no limit Low Ball. In those days all that was legal in CA was five card draw games. Soon I was not only dealing the low ball games but working in an after hours place out of the city limits dealing 7 card stud. That started my love of games involving 7 cards and a career lasting almost 20 years of dealing and playing poker.

Although a lot has happened since I gave up dealing, my love of the game has never faltered. For 10 years I have been married to my prince, he doesn’t play poker or gamble, but is always supportive when I do. Hey, he married a poker playing dealer, so he knew what he was in for!

Since I moved to a mountain top with the closest live poker games being 3 hours away, I stayed happy by being able to play online. For me, it is the best of both worlds, I can live in paradise but play whenever I want, and even wear my pajamas!

When the UIGEA was passed, I took a break for a short time, but I got back into playing once I discovered how easy it was to use epassporte to fund my account. The only drawback of living where I live and playing online is weather. Since I have satellite internet (my only option) I have bad connection problems when we have rain or snow as it blocks the satellite signal. Even sending my husband up on the roof to get the snow off the dish doesn’t always work.

My life is hectic, just like everyone else I know. I have 3 jobs, my own online business, taking care of my husband who has cancer and writing here on PokerWorks, which I LOVE, THANK YOU again Linda!! My only fun is playing poker which I do every chance I get.

I am excited about this new project with Linda, who has been a close cyber friend for 10 years. Maxicat is a buddy who I also met online about 2 years ago and Carmen, who I don’t know but I read regularly.

I have high hopes for all of us, but if only one of us can succeed I will be very happy….in the meantime it will be fun, so stay tuned!
