Chasing Chris Ferguson

 I was born and raised in a very small town in Alabama where everyone knows your business and there is no place to hide.  I grew up and moved on to where there was anonymity in numbers and freedom to do just what I wanted without constant scrutiny.

I am now 46 years old and married, with two stepsons off to college.  I have played poker since I was a kid but never took it seriously.

I started going to casinos at around age 27 when I moved to New Jersey, not too far from Atlantic City.  Slots were my first adventure; then I went on to Black Jack, Roulette and Craps.  I have played Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride, Three Card Poker and more.

When my husband and I moved to Texas, we started making trips over to the riverboats in Shreveport, Louisiana as well as those in Biloxi and Tunica, Mississippi.  By now I played a little bit of everything, except live poker.  We even went to Vegas and Reno and had an absolute blast out west!

Once again, we moved, this time to Chicago, Illinois.  I started going to the nearby riverboats in the surrounding areas on a regular basis.  Otherwise, when we traveled south to see family, we detoured into Mississippi to revisit our old haunts in Biloxi.

Finally, our last move to Tampa, Florida has left us lacking good casino entertainment unless we take the offshore boats.  I don’t favor them as once you board, you are stuck until the session is over and land is back in sight.  We have been to the one Tampa casino that is located on land (The Hard Rock Casino) where I played live Holdem for the very first time.  I really enjoyed the game but my husband is a Craps player and there are no table games at the Hard Rock so we haven’t been back.

It was just after the night at the Hard Rock that I discovered on-line poker through a friend who plays regularly.  With online poker, I can play in the comfort of my own home at times that fit my hectic schedule and I don’t have to get dressed up or go anywhere.  I just love it!  I don’t even need any money to play in the free rolls but I can win real money.  It just doesn’t get any better than that for me.  Now I am a bona fide, on-line, poker-playing belle.  I may be a beginner, but I am determined to learn!
