I’ve obviously been playing. It’s not been very pretty. I’ve had the run from hell and managed to sit card dead for years and never even put any money in the pot other than blinds and antes. One tournament I played 2 hands in – obviously they were no good, 10′s one hand and K’s on the one that ousted me. Don’t think that means I think I’m a great player because I waited for skill cards, I don’t. But when you snug up for the long haul, you just can’t play anything marginal and I haven’t been. I think I went through over 20 or so tourneys without a cash. Poor baby bankroll. Continue reading
Wham, Bam, Thank You Ma’am!
I jumped right in to the Ultimate Bet 9:15 p.m. Freeroll with a pocket pair of Aces.
Keeping Focused May Pay Off Yet
Well, my plans for tourneys to play the other night fell through as life got in the way!
My zag has been zigged
or some such nonsense…I don’t know if I’m zigging when I should be zagging or there really is a plot from the Card Fairy that has me hooked up with the death row of Poker Wanna Winners. It’s a struggle. I made it down to about 50ish players out of a $4.40 180 player SnG, simply by folding everything under the sun and then winning one pot with A-J off…yeah…it’s brutal when you never pick up a playable hand and A-J off looks like a royal flush when you finally see A-Face. The run from hell wouldn’t even begin to describe it. Continue reading
Poker Chat
I’ve listened to it live for years, as a dealer and player, from the pros, the wannabees, the regular Joes, and sometimes it’s what makes the whole experience worth being there. The people chatter mingled with chip clatter is, at times, the essence of why we go to a poker table. In online poker I’ve reported some chatters for their abuse of the English language and inability to express themselves without using swear words – and believe me, I know how to swear, I’m a pro at it – but calling someone names because you lost a hand just ain’t the way the game should go down. The long grind
I’m almost in love with A-K Clubs. I won two hands with it in the span of five minutes. I got 9′s beat – 10′s beat and this hand is one that strikes me as being typical of NLH play tournaments:
Holding Pattern
That seems to be where I am with the Bankroll, still hovering in a holding pattern at about $1,220. No I am not complaining. It may not be going up, but as long as it is not going down, I am fine with it. Continue reading
