Book signing today - What else did I sign?
I’m signing my books (and, hopefully, selling them) at the PokerPainter.com booth at the World Gaming Expo at 1 PM today (Saturday). Please stop by. Even if you don’t buy a book, we can shoot the breeze and maybe wrangle passersby into thinking I’m doing a brisk business.
I just got back from the Rio, watching Andy Bloch bust out at about 1:35 AM. He was in the middle of level 6. They were playing six levels today, which probably means they’ll play that number every day. With the 90 minute dinner break and 20 minute breaks between levels, they won’t finish until after 3 AM.
Can I handle that? I have no idea. Then, the pace of play was funereal during the last hour. Everyone was coffeehousing on every play. Everyone was taking eons after a bet to make their decision to fold. Kennedy handled the Cuban Missile Crisis with less deliberation. Bloch told me that so many players want to say they made Day 2, so they are purposely slowing the pace to a crawl. In addition to avoid doing something rash because I’ve played so long, I have to avoid doing something rash because I’d rather be killing somebody at the table.
Saturday will be a very sedate, laid-back day.
I hope.
