I have these experiences in poker every so often - actually, I have them SO often - that I just have to ask myself after, “What the hell just happened?”

I’m in Las Vegas to go through several chapters of the FULL TILT book with the collaborators one last time before the final edited version is due at the publisher’s. (November 6, 2006 is that date.) I called Mike Matusow on the way out to see if he would be available for me to stop by on the way in. We worked together on the Omaha Eight-or-Better chapter and “one last time” for him to look at it would also serve as “one first time” for him to look at it. It being an NFL Sunday, I was pretty certain he would be home, and I was right.

He picked up his cell phone and answered, “Suicide Hotline?”
