Somewhere, It’s Hammer Time - Part I - The Overview

December 12th, 2006 by admin

It’s 6:45 PM MST in my office in Scottsdale. I’m a couple days overdue in my writing. In my defense, I’ve been too busy LIVING my life to write about it. But even that’s not fair; meeting twice-extended deadlines at BLUFF and trying to re-integrate my home life have taken a toll. I’ve also slept a few hours - very few.

I’m picking up Valerie at dance at 8 PM, then playing the evening tournaments on Full Tilt. While I do that, I will be writing up my adventures of the weekend, including the following:

I have lots of material to catch up on, so at least I’ll tell you why I’m NOT going to catch up today.

Coming Soon, to an Internet Near You

December 9th, 2006 by admin

This Blogger’s Convention has been great fun, but it’s HARD. I got back to my room at about 4:30 AM Saturday morning. I was one of the first to leave the MGM Grand. I was up at 8:30 for my meeting with Mike the Mouth. At the 1:30 PM Blogger Tournament, I think I had more sleep than at least 75% of the players.

Eleven Minutes, or Baby’s Got Red Eyes

December 8th, 2006 by admin

[I am posting this Friday evening but it was written just after I woke up on Friday.]

It’s eleven minutes to ten in the morning. I am looking at myself in the bathroom mirror. It is not a pretty sight. I am freezing cold from half a shower. Soapy water runs from my head in rivulets down my body. My eyes are so red they look like they’ve been bleeding.

Shocked out of just four hours of sleep, it takes me a moment to remember the three culprits of my condition:

Paris, Richard Brodie, and The Poker Bloggers.

Multi-tabling in Real Time

December 6th, 2006 by admin

I have a 21st century problem, and I hope someone can bail me out. The Blogger Tournament at Caesars Palace starts at 1:30 PM Saturday. I qualified for a $15,000 freeroll tournament on Full Tilt that starts at 1:15 PM Saturday.

Bloggers convention coming? Better get the medicine kit

December 5th, 2006 by admin

In just three days, I’ll be with 50-100 poker bloggers in Las Vegas. It’s my third convention with this group and the prospect fills me with equal parts excitement and dread.

“michael, have a good night, hope you don’t get into a fiery accident”

December 4th, 2006 by admin

My streak of playing tournaments on Full Tilt and going deep without a big cash continues. And my streak of attracting crazed railbirds continues as well.

The guy’s screen name on Full Tilt is “strohsix” and I have reported him. You be the judge.

Make Sense of Pamela Anderson and Win $20 … and Other Developments in My Life

December 2nd, 2006 by admin

I think the Full Tilt logo has been burned into my retinas. I’ve gone a little crazy playing the tournaments in the last week and I think I can see that shadow-logo they have on the (virtual) felt when I close my eyes.

Google, Pamela Anderson, and an Axis of Evil Nipped in the Bud - Plus “The Post” That Caused It

November 29th, 2006 by admin

Good news, everybody! While I am investigating what happened to my November 13, 2006, post titled, “The Short, Brief Life of Pamela Anderson’s Poker Site,” the alchemists at Google have retrieved it. Try as Iggy and Kid Rock might, they were no match for the awesome, lordly power of the Internet Search Engine. To me, Google’s stock is a bargain at $500 per share.
