Full Tilt isn’t the first to offer targeted bonuses, but poker sites could take a page from casinos and offer incentives to regular players to continue playing. Because once regular players get wind of not being treated equally, they may decide to go elsewhere.

The online casino where I play returns 0.1 percent in cashback from the previous month, but because I play there regularly they double that amount. They also send the occasional fruit basket.

You won’t see a casino offering a bonus to a player who hasn’t played in awhile; if they did, they would take care of their loyal players first.

This doesn’t say to me, “We appreciate your business and want you to keep playing.”

The one difference is that a poker site needs players to survive and this is their way to bring back players, despite risking them just whoring the bonus and disappearing again.

As much as I like Full Tilt — it’s still my favorite site –Â I’ll follow through on my threat and leave them, once I figure out how to withdraw.

And until they offer another bonus.
