Power to the piggy
Losing another poker site to U.S. players is never good news, but at least Doyles Room is allowing players to transfer balances and points over to Full Tilt.
Full Tilt has a no-deposit bonus in exchange for donating to the Poker Player’s Alliance (or upgrading to a paid membership if already a member). A $20 donation gets you a $50 bonus, $40 gets you $100, and $100 gets you $200 (I won’t mention the puzzling $1000 for an even $1000). You’re also entered into a freeroll to win one of 18 jerseys (worth 25,000 points).
The $200 bonus clears at their regular rate of 4000 points, or $20 every 400 points.
This is the bonus I’ll be doing when I return to Full Tilt in March. I’ve been away from Full Tilt enough that I don’t qualify for any of Iron Man. Without playing with rakeback at any site, I want to feel like I’m working toward something, and it doesn’t make much sense to earn points until restarting Iron Man.
‘Course, having cleared my bonuses at Stars, it doesn’t make sense to earn points there, either, except that I’m 900 FPPs away from GoldStar.
The Full Tilt bonus expires March 5 and as soon as the bonus is credited you have 62 days to clear.

Last night, I snagged a barbecue pulled pork sandwich and tested the lucky hair and pig theory by playing three $27 SnGs and one $16.
Came in 3rd in the first $27.
Busted out in all-too-familiar 4th with this ridiculous $27 hand that I managed to screen grab:

(The screenshot shows one reason I don’t like Stars:Â when all-in, the cards hide remaining chips and who’s all-in.)
To compensate for the beat, I won the $16 and the other $27.
Then tonight I had a pork burrito from Chipotle, which they call carnitas to make it sound fancy and mask it from offending vegetarians.
Popped into four $27s and finished 7th twice (I much prefer being as far away from the bubble as possible), 1st, and 2nd.
I also played 3/6 6max limit while the SnGs were going on and came back to even after a $150 downswing.
Power to the lucky pig. I may never wash my hair again.
When all-in preflop, I’m trying not to let a bad beat get to me and flood this blog with my ravings. I’m trying to be satisifed simply making the correct play, even if it results in losing.

Blockbuster brought out their promotion again for Netflix members, which is good through the end of Wednesday.
Bring in the sleeve of a Netflix DVD (the part listing your address) and get a free DVD rental from Blockbuster. No prior online or store membership required.
They offered something similar before the holidays, and the advantage DVD watchers saved all their sleeves just in case the offer came back.
I’m going to have to start collecting my sleeves.
In a little comment to my feeling on Valentine’s Day, I picked up SAW III and The Last Kiss.
