Sleeping through the SnG Challenge

Rubbing it in my face about my depleted Poker Stars account (yes, the same account I Moneygrammed $600 to for the $150 bonus), this security word popped up while I was trying to buy tickets to a play:

I didn’t buy those tickets.

I tend to go in phases on poker sites.  I’m either up in one and down in another.  Then I rebuy on the busto account, run that up, and end up busting in the other account.

It’s as if there’s some sort of poker karmic balance going on.

I dropped the rest of what I had in Stars on the 6max cash games, one game I just can’t beat despite Poker Tracker showing I was a winner back at Party.  For another game I can’t beat, see below.

I’ll still be playing Stars’ $20,000 weekly Saturday freerolls, in an effort to be like Chris Ferguson and go from $0 to $20,000.

Stars also has WSOP seats using points with two chances the next two Sundays.  For a 10,000-point entry fee, 9 seats are guaranteed.  For a 500-point entry, 5 seats are guaranteed.

I plan to play both.

Last night, I fell asleep again while playing three SnGs.  Lost all three, so I’m not playing as well as I used to while asleep.

Dreamt of going to a neighborhood bank which doubled as a casino.  I took out money and they gave most of it in the dreaded unlucky $2 bills.

I exchanged the bills for chips, but instead of chips they used small pieces of paper plus cookies and ice cream.

A player next to me took a bite out of his ice cream cookie sandwich.  The ice cream cookie sandwich was worth $100, so each bite cost him about $25.

***

A friend and I have been comparing each other’s and other players’ SnG data on Full Tilt.

He deposited $100 and has been playing the $11+1s.

I’m not adjusting correctly or they’re indeed more difficult, but I just cannot win at the $11s.

We both planned to get Tourney Manager this weekend, so I decided to propose a challenge for us to play better: we each play 50 of these things and whoever has the lower balance has to buy the other a copy of the Tourney Manager software ($40).

Aside from falling asleep during two (the third was a $24+2 where the hand history shows I zonked out during the second 20/40 level), my stats so far have been abysmal.

I’m halfway through the challenge and am at a negative $70.

When I last checked, he was at 12 SnGs and down to his last $11.  The challenge was partly endurance, too, because he’d wanted to do at least 50 SnGs in a weekend.

I added a clause that if either of us didn’t reach 50, we’d forfeit.

To keep it fair, if he busted that tourney, I would have transferred money to him, but the bastard ended up winning it.

He’s now way ahead with 10 more games still to go to be even with me.  If he loses all 10, I’ll be in the lead.

I need to concentrate on my remaining 25 and not keep popping into the 6max games.

And I need to stop falling asleep while playing.
