Grubby at PokerWorks

• Getting my (only) pocket aces cracked by Fuel, who runner runnered quad tens after going all-in pre-flop.
• Holding and petting a clay donkey intermittently throughout the tournament.
• A new dealer asking if the tournament was for bloggers. When asked how he knew, he replied, “I knew as soon as I heard you all cheer for the first one out and give him a Gigli DVD.”
• Raising four times the BB with the Hammer only to be jacked up all-in (I folded, and revealed my cards to the head-shaking dealer).
• Falstaff telling me, “You’re my horse!” and not knowing what that meant.
• Simultaneously being on the phone with Iggy and F-train, giving them blogger tournament results since both lamely did not show up.
• Picking up my 2nd prize from the surly tournament director and resisting the urge to tip despite the “Please Tip Your Dealers” sign.
• Mrs. Spaceman ordering a celebratory drink, a “Dirty Girl Scout.”
• Playing donkey 2/4 limit poker at Gold Coast with Spaceman and Mrs. Spaceman, Pauly, Zeem, grubby and Doug and being told by the floorman, “This is not a private game.” No, but apologizes to the suckers that sit in the two other seats.
• Playing 10/20 limit in the big top of the World Series tent, only to sit with two players from Hawaiian Gardens.
• Walking a 1/2 mile to the Rio’s WSOP poker room, only to find the only beer served was Miller Light and Milwaukee’s Best and having to use port-o-johns, frequently (nicest I’ve seen though).
• Telling Weak Player he was a loser for him wanting his baby to be born 7-2-07.
• Going all in with $13 on the bonus! at Pai Gow and hitting a straight flush worth $650. No one else at the table played the bonus!
• Hitting quads on the very next hand, when everyone played the bonus!
• Eating all-you-can-eat sushi at Green Valley with Doug and grubby and hiding a chewy piece of squid under piles of plates (you no eat, you pay).
• Having all but $1.46 comp’d off my hotel room charges, which included a $57 pair of flip-flops for Doug.
• Arriving home to the new baby grublet and spending the rest of the afternoon watching Dirty Dancing.
