Turkey Day
“Thanksgiving, after all, is a word of action.”

I’m flying out to Minneapolis in a few hours but thought I’d hop on here and throw a few snippets up for fun. Hope everyone has a fantastic holiday.
Excellent three page article here per the Unlawful Gaming Act:

Continuing my hooker theme from my first uber post here at Poker Works, here’s some NYC perspective on dating and money.

I’ve been kinda bumming the last few weeks because Gary Carson disappeared from RGP. I’m not sure if the internet connection was cut to his trailer or if he was simply traveling, but regardless, RGP ain’t got that same kick without Gary around to add his two cents.
But thankfully, it appears he’s returned. A question with Gary’s answer:
Why isn’t Phil Ivey on High Stakes Poker?
Anyone know the inside scoop?
The immediate response:
Michael Richards is the casting director.
A vicious flame war broke out after this, debating the ethics and lack thereof, of a white person using the N word. I have plenty to post about this but no time to wade through the muck as of right now. I’ll get it up early next week, promise.
I can’t explain it, but I’ve had the Sly and Family Stone song, “Don’t Call Me Nigger, Whitey” stuck in head ever since reading the RGP tards.
I just learned (thanks Bill!) that the PPA has set up a new web site to battle the online gambling legislation. It’s at http://www.fightwhatsnext.org/ It’s a highly annoying flash site devoid of content. Well, they have the Jon Stewart video that everyone’s seen a million times and some links to articles. Well done PPA! I think they are giving away FREE memberships, though, so please go sign up.
I’ve really gotta run - again, have a great holidays - and allow me to leave you with this touching Thanksgiving tale.

OT: Worst Thanksgiving Ever?
Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday. What is better than a day full of food, fun, and more food?
Granted it doesn’t take much to ruin my Thanksgiving but here is the absolute worst one ever:
We had 20 or so guests, family and friends having a good old time. After a little too much drinking all hell broke loose. To this day we do not know what started it but in all the excitement one guest choked on some food. First I did the Heimlich, then two others and she is still choking, turning blue, etc…
Finally the paramedics arrived and used some kind of tool to get a huge piece of turkey out of this woman’s throat but the she is still gagging so off to the hospital she went.
Apparently some of the food went into her lungs, there were complications, she died a few days later. Three months later the legal action hits and two years later a mid six figure settlement is reached.
Now Thanksgiving is immediate family only and no open bar.

Hitting your draw (re: dating and money) is always more satisfying than paying for a made hand. IMHO. lol.

Take care on this dangerous holiday. PPA - you too, guys.

Hey Igz. I’m glad you mentioned that PPA’s site is devoid of content. I’m still very wary of any group that asks for donations or an admission fee under the guise that they will use the money for the benefit of poker players. I don’t know enough about the PPA, so I’m not calling them out directly, but I just see too much opportunity to fleece poker players. It’s very easy to spend everyones’ money on overhead like a not-for-profit company car or office space. It’s good to see that they are offering free membership though, since that undercuts my concern and skepticism. As I said, I don’t know enough about the PPA’s spending to knock them directly, but I’m always concerned when people start asking for donations for a worthy cause without publicizing what they are doing specifically with the dough.
