Au Revoir

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.”
Albert Einstein

All good things must come to an end. And thusly, it’s with mixed feelings that I’m announcing my departure from PokerWorks.

It’s bittersweet. We were fully expecting this to be a long-term play but between the UIGEA & Google issues, it simply ended up being a case of bad timing.

End of story.

So I must thank Linda, my blogmother, for the opportunity to come here and write. It was an honour and I’m lucky to have her as a colleague and friend. I’m also bummed to be leaving all the heavyweight bloggers collected here under the PW umbrella. Lord knows I’ll be coming here to read them.

But for now, I’m heading back to the familiar confines of Guinness and Poker.

If you’re afraid of prosecution because you accept money from a site that promotes gambling, your readers would appreciate it if you said so.
Should other bloggers also be worried? I’d like to hear more.

  2. Short-Stacked Shamus Says:

See you back at G & P, friend. Cheers.

  3. change100 Says:

Sorry to see you go, little man. Good luck!

  4. tom Says:

Wow. Too bad this didn’t work out for you, but it’ll be nice to have you back in the "familiar confines of G&P". After years of reading you there, this didn’t have quite the same comfortable atmosphere. And Guiness and Poker is Iggy’s place, damnit! Not so this spot, where you were just one of many bloggers. Good luck.

  5. Falstaff Says:

Bummer. Back to ubering over at the old homestead.

Gnome - I don’t have any insight into Iggy’s departure from these pages, but I have no worries about working for Pokerworks or accepting money directly from the online sites that advertise on my blog. I feel that we’re way too small fish to concern the DOJ. But that’s just my opinion and everyone should behave in the manner they see fit.

sorry to see you go iggy.

anyone willing to take the time to explain the role google plays in this?

Geeze, having moistened my pillow once again with teardrops salty with loss, I’ll take this time to bid a fond farewell, again, to my little buddy…
He was my inspiration, my guiding star. I’ll never forget looking down and seeing that impish smile for the first time…

    What? He’s not…? Just leaving?

    Oh. Fine.

    See ya’.

Good Job returning to G&P you sellout… at least you came to your senses.. heh.. Just kidding Linda!!! I love your site!!!

  9. Jordan from HighOnPoker Says:

Damn Google thugs! G&P is the place for Iggy anyway. Now, can we recommence the Ubers?

  10. Dr. Chako Says:

Couldn’t read your Pokerworks stuff from work anyway - even with the RSS. I could get the first few lines, but that’s it. I even tried editing the feed. I guess I’m not the geek I thought I was.

I can read G&P from work - and even see the freaky pics! Welcome back.

PS. I agree with Gnome - if you are moving because of fear of prosecution, we’d like to know.

  11. Fred Says:

There are more tears shed over answered prayers than unanswered ones.

  12. Iggy Says:

thanks all - appreciate the condolences.

gnome & doc: had absolutely nothing to do with it. was pure economics. go hit linda’s post and comments if you want a little more insight.
