On it’s face, RAZZ is a very simple game. Throw out the flushes and straights. You need to be able to count to ten. You can use your fingers alone for record keeping. Not only is it simple it is the most frustrating game in the poker family. (more…)

There are arguments about how to clear a bonus quickly and with the least risk. The usual answer is multi-tabling a comfortable limit Hold’em game. I think I have found a much better way. (more…)

There may be a reason I really like Red Beans and Rice. Prevo is an anglicized version of Prevost. Many folks have family crest and trace back to some royal household. Mine is a bit more unique. As things ‘wind down’, I thought I’d put a bit of fun family history on the net.

Back in the 20’s my Great Aunt Elsie was married to an Irishmen named Jimmy. Jimmy was a dapper guy with a big Packard touring car. My Dad loved him. He’d drive Jimmy to work and then get the car for the evening and pick him up after his shift – heady stuff for a 20-something kid. Jimmy was a dealer at ‘The Big House’ in East Chicago, Indiana.

I sat the other day at Full Contact. It was a .25-50 NL table. Had the big blind on the very first hand holding Q3 suited and the flop came QJ3. I slow played nothing. My turn bet was 8 of the 25 I’d sat with. One caller who proceeded to get the 9 he needed on the river for his gutshot straight. I didn’t mind that. What I minded was fattening up a Loose – Aggressive that proceeded to give the table strong preflop bets. (more…)

It is expensive when talking about computers. It is illusive when we’re talking about our game. A recent blog detailed a small tournament I played at TonyG with a huge overlay making it attractive.
