Colin’s turn in the barrel
I posted about some problems I had trying to play the freeroll at Wingows. I got the following response in my comments. Colin represent a great support system. Sadly, it is one I’m having a really lousy time trying to fund.
Here is Colin’s response to save you bouncing back to the old blog:
Dear James
My name is Colin Anderson and Im affiliate and Marketing manager at Wingows gaming.
I read your post a little while ago and would like to explain how the tournament was set up.
Only players that used the Poker works or Poker News link to download Wingows was registered to this tournament. If you used any other link or downloaded directly from Wingows then you are not on the players list and there for were unable to play.
Our main goal at Wingows is to keep our valued players happy and help them enjoy every minute that they are there.
If you did use the Pokerworks or Pokernews banner to download Wingows then I will check your username and sort out what happened.
What I can do however is get you added to the pokernews account if you didn’t use any other affliate link to download WIngows so you can take advantage of the other freerolls that have been orginized.
I hope this helps a little and if you need any kind of assistance please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime at colin@wingows.com
Best Regards

If you look at the top of either blog you’ll see a Wingows link. It was one of those that I clicked on to download the software. When I registered, there was an coupon entry field and I also added Pokerworks in that area.
Having entered your site through our site, I am left confused.
I do use Firefox as a browser and limit cookies. But there was no request denied on your site for cookies. I have noticed that other sites that rely on the Microsoft scripting features that the Java scripting I allow does not support certain features. MS’ active scripting has long been a source of security problems and I feel that any site that relies on them exposes users unduly. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the problem encountered though. Site that are IE dependent create problems for roughly 30% of all users.
I do want to remark to those reading here that Wingows support is the best I’ve seen on the net. I’ve made several email exchanges on the funding issue and the response was prompt and spoke to the topic. When I used Messenger to discuss the tournament problem, the person responding was prompt and also to the point. Finally, I got a prompt response from Kate. You do have the best customer service that I have encountered from any poker site. Makes me even sadder that it is so hard to fund on the site.
I know the funding issue affects all the sites and isn’t something they want. It is a difficult environment these days. But, you are the only site I’ve used that doesn’t have a provision to use a debit or gift card that could provide funding. I am hoping it’s something that is possible to address at some future point.
I’ll add that the cards were very kind to me there, too. (Yes, my 22.05 from the free $5 came packaged in a lovely luckbox.) Also, that the play is loose and something to drool over. You managed to provide a nice aquarium that seems nicely filled.
It is a great starting spot — with inexpensive tournaments for the novice player. The 100K freeroll has a lot of ways to play for those who want to satellite in. And the $60 buyin is very reasonable and just might include a bit of overlay. There’s a lot to attract one to the site.
For those who play higher, I notice there are always players for those games. Not a lot of that; but, those I’ve observed look every bit as juicy.
I also like the software. It is quick and has the added features of chopping the blinds and putting on a straddle. The only thing I find annoying is the extra popup window with the flashing fields. That an awfully busy screen to display and references downloading the software instead of your promotions.
Wish we could do more business my new friend!
ADDENDUM:
If you are a blogger that is using Dashboard (the software we use for our blogging here) and downloaded a recent update, you will want to redownload the software. The site was recently hacked and the software downloaded had a trojan for a few days. It is a good idea to go pick up the clean version for peace of mind.

Hi Ken
Thank you very much for the reply and here is some answers to your questions.
Currently Wingows suggests that US players use epassporte when making their deposits.
The good news that I can tell you is that Wingows is looking into to other depositing methods to help US players in funding their accounts.
I am also happy to guarantee you that Wingows is an extremingly safe and secure place to play poker.
As previously mentioned, we take our players and their safety very seriously and guarantee their safety when playing poker.
when making a deposit with a bonus coupon, you need to redeem the coupon, then it will guide you back to the cashier where you can then make your deposit.
We try to treat all our players with high respect and help them in any way we possibly can and again if there is anything you need help with then please do not hesitate to email me:
I thank you also for the kind words of support and look forward to seeing you at the Wingows poker tables more frequently
Best Regards
Colin

I tried ePassportexpress. I put $50 on it to get started. I deposited it at Full Contact. By accident I made that deposit twice. The first cost me nothing\\\’; the second cost $17 and change. I am not going to deposit using a service that\\\’s got 35% juice.
ePassporte is a non-starter for me!
