Mental Hemorrhoids (UIGEA info in the ADDENDUM)

Today, (Wed) was a good day playing HORSE at both Full Tilt and Ultimate Bet. That’s an occasion. I hadn’t been running all that well. Felt good! Tripled up on Tilt. Came close to doubling on Bet. But, that isn’t the story.

After playing at Tilt, I stopped by Bet and there was a seat open. They were in the Omaha8 session as I sat. On the second hand as the small Blind, I had AA62 rainbow. I called and got an ace and bet the flop. On the river I capped the pot against a possible straight with no low possible.

Why you asked?

The sign on the table said Omaha and my brain said Stud. The 6 had also paired and I had Aces Full. …if we were playing stud…

Well, I at least got a table image 100% the opposite of my nature. Maybe that’s why I had a good session.

In the meantime…anybody know a good Alzheimer’s test? Damn, I felt stupid.

And, yes, I have played the wrong game in the stud family. It happens occasionally if I am multi-tasking.

ADDENDUM:

Remember the adage: Play loose in a tight game and tight in a loose game. That is hard to do! Playing HORSE at the lowest limits has really driven that home. There are constantly 5-6 seeing the flops and even calling pot raises. Those almost decent hands start to look better and better. Unless you found a luck box, it just won’t work out.

I have also found that you must make more crying river/7th St. calls. The pots are just juicy enough and the play so bad that I’ve watched too many hands I had beat take the pot. The crap people will bluff with at the end is amazing. RAZZ is the biggest example but it is there in all of them. It appears they all cut their teeth at the low rent Hold’em tables.

P.S. You people that play limit Hold’em all the time are sick puppies. :-)

45.7 million credit and debit cards stolen over an 18-month period. In a regulatory filing that gives the first detailed account of the breach initially disclosed in January, the owner of T.J. Meitner gave us the remarks of a lawyer from the U.S. gov that was at the English Gambling Summit. Take a look in our forum, As to one of the remarks, I guess the learned Esquire never heard of the Dutch Boyd co-mingled funds fiasco.

Wendeen Eolis has a great article up on PokerPlayer about the new attempt by Barney Franks to torpedo the UIGEA. Looks like there might be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
