WTO rules against U.S. Gambling Limitations

The World Trade Organization (WTO) ruling is out and we won … well sorta.

You can get the full report here. While it was based on horse race betting, it does open to door for poker. With the ruling in hand, it could make such a follow through speedier.

The article does seem somewhat inaccurate. As a layman, I can’t guarantee the fact but it is reported that sanctions can be somewhat novel. The report points out that little Antiqua-Barbuda is a gnat in the U.S. Economy. However, the WTO can allow some pretty broad sanctions which could include suspending U.S. Copyright protection. You could find recent releases are cheaper than a Blockbuster rental. That should get the RIAA’s attention and get their lobby group on the case. And as we all know, they have a lot of clout in that area.

Keep your fingers crossed. With Barney (I don’t think this one wears that much purple … but you never know.) Franks and the WTO leading at the Attorney General’s chin, maybe he’ll go back to working on terrorist that aren’t sitting at the felt.

ADDENDUM:

As the old New Yorker cartoon says, “On the Internet, no one knows you’re a dog.” As long as the dog delivers, no one really cares that they ARE a dog.”
