Hand for Hand

Well, I am watching the bubble. And cowardice rains supreme. Some, namely pros, are the gamblers here. I can see the reason that it is playing out that way. I like to think I’d be the dangerous player but I’d probably be as big a wimp as the next guy.

Chip Jett bluffed a nice pot with bottom pair against top pair with an ace kicker. Chip’s other card was also an ace. Had to be a sick feeling for the other guy. The pros are still playing to win and the folks doing their one big thing are really wanting to cash.

Three days of play mean something; cashing means something; fear is the pros friend here. It is painful to play to survive. I have done it. I know. Regardless, it doesn’t feel that great after. This event might be the exception but laying down good hands doesn’t leave you with a lot of game left.

Having said I’ve played the lasting game; I’m a likely one to try it under these circumstances. But, I hope I’d play it right/better. But, in the back of our minds is pride and pride can make us do worse things than fold a winning hand. All the cliches are at the front of our mind. Things like don’t go broke with top pair and top kicker. The other thing is we don’t want to go out with our second pair getting hosed and us looking like a donkey.

These people have more pressure on them than they are likely to ever see again. And that has the pro salivating. Online we have little fear in these situations. “I was playing to win.” is our mantra. And what do we want to avoid? Being called weak-passive. We often make a great read on a guy half way around the world. Sitting at the table and seeing him takes us out of the comfort zone and it shows.

I don’t know who will win it but I think I see a lot that have already lost it. .The hands keep slowly happening where about 100 players had an M < 10. Nine hands played in 1:15. The bubble is still off in the distance. This has gotten as painful to watch as it has been, I bet, to play it.

Well, the bubble finally burst: Jon Moonves Eliminates Rob Thompson

Let the games begin!

Think you can get a bit wild and dangerous? Think Again!
