The serial melodrama that includes the UIGEA continues to play out at the Doha meetings. The US is seeking to settle the problem it’s anti-gambling stance is costing the country. Not only is the cost in civil liberty but it is going to cost a bunch and I mean a bunch that even the Bobby’s room gang would go “WOW!” about. (more…)

The other day, I talked about the need to be willing to fail in tournament poker. It is something that goes against the grain. So much of what we do at the tables is affected by our reptilian brain. It’s that part of the brain that is pure reaction. It is the part of the brain that the Kumbiya crowd ignores when they are putting flowers into the muzzle of Guardman’s M-14 or other silliness to bring about World Peace. So, much of what we do is hardwired and one ignores that at their peril. (more…)

I qualified and played in the freeroll Friday night at Full Tilt Poker. I’m not really sure why. It is at the end of October and I don’t have a passport and probably couldn’t get one in that time. Well, there’s always the $1500 that goes with the tournament ticket. (more…)
