Linda mentioned playing on Duplicate Poker. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, we’ve some agreement with them to mutual benefit. And that usually translates to our readers getting a better deal too. Here it is some nice freerolls for just depositing the minimum.

Going to War

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

The enemy caused loss of American lives that incensed the people, politicians and media. We were more powerful than the enemy. It was time to do something. It was a very short war as wars go; we kicked their butts. In the aftermath, we ended up in a gorilla war that cost thousands of American lives. We were stuck in a situation of occupying a country that had different values that we could not relate to. (more…)

The World is Screwed Up & So Am I

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

I like MeanGene and his writing. On 9/11, he mentioned a source that set me off and I proceed to make a total ass of myself. (more…)

Beyond Vanilla

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

I know I promote a vanilla game in the blog more than I play it. Without that game you can’t play the other. We are in the realm of gear changes and taking what is offered. Implied odds enters our thinking. We’re adding some gamble to the gameplan. (more…)

Conspiracy Prequel

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

I have a conspiracy theory article going up later. This meshes with it. It is a letter a novice player got after trying some sample software he downloaded. The rest of his post makes him look like what he is: a novice player with novice computer skills; but, it shows the sites aren’t just sitting back like many allege. Truly Over the River

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

My condolences to Grubby. His recollections make a lovely and loving story. Whether he knows it or not, he’s embarked on old age. People tend to pick decade markers for transitioning through life’s stages. Years are only a marker; we still see others ahead of us on the road. Within reason, health is more annoyance than indicator. We know old age hits but we don’t really know where or how until it is too late. (more…)

Ugly American – The Nutty Netter Story

Monday, September 10th, 2007

Finals Day for PokerStars’ WCOP was a busy one for me. I only got to see parts. Most of those were in fairly early play. You remember my confession about not liking that Tyler Netter guy but giving the confession he’s a better player than I am. Well, I can happily take that part back and say sometime instead of always. How Green was My Valley?

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

I’ll finish my series on the WCOP on Monday. But, I want to get a weekender into the mix. So…

Green is a recent buzz word. We need to be Green. I get criticized for not being Green enough. Green is the color we now must capitalize. I think most of the folks that have a better standing in that area are the same one’s I see drawing to an inside straight at the tables. (more…)

Strange Fruit

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Billy Holiday’s song spoke about something far more important than a poker tournament in Barcelona. Yet, the title comes to mind after viewing some of the last qualifying match. The lynching aspect carried to our inane, poker-playing minds also comes into play. (more…)

It’s Official! Daniel Negreanu is Bi

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

Bi-lingual that is. During yesterday’s PokerStars’ tournament, he was his usual Chatty Cathy with the Romanian team and doing it in Romanian. (more…)
