Poor Ignatius
It was an uber shock when I visited Party Poker Blog and found that the esteemed Mr. O’ finally called the Problem Gambling Intervention Hotline. What a sad day for bonus codes everywhere. I think we all saw it coming, though. Luckily — in just two weeks — there will be an intervention on his behalf.
Our fellow blogger at Res Ipsa has detailed his own bad beat. Something about an ambulance, I think. But, he has volunteered to sit up late at night to assist poor Ignatius cope with life during the upcoming festivities. What greater love?
I’d thought Pauly would have been all over this; but come to find out his Gonzo got broke. Poor lad is waiting for his bid on Ebay for a new one to go through. Then he’ll be able to journalismize about the situation.
BadBlood also has issues and has volunteered to meet with Iggy at the play money tables. I imagine the GA folks might suggest that isn’t wise either. If so, former Rep. Jim Leach will offer up a bill to prevent their contact.
Johnny Hughes will be attending the intervention. I’m not sure what he’ll be doing to help the lad. But, don’t let that old road warrior deal.
Jordan has been added to the Iggy intervention group. I’d feel that’d be a plus if his better half were along. But, with PokerPeaker as his roommate, I have trepidations. Let us hope those handcuffs they’d already had attached to the bed for whatever reason keep Iggy from straying.
Those of us still sitting at home while all this transpires in a couple of weeks are the real tragedy. If you’ve been inspired by all this silliness, you can contact Falstaff for a show program and your free slice of Carolina ham.

Guess I’m done beating this dead horse… Maybe next year!
ADDENDUM:
Scandinavian poker players may not get to kick sand in our face much longer:
The Norwegian Minister for Culture & Church Affairs, Tronde Giske, has introduced proposed legislation that from next year would ban financial institutions from processing transactions to and from online gambling operators. –Gambling Intel.
There is the proof that evolution doesn’t have a leg up there over the U.S. But, Hell! we knew that from the cards they are willing to play from early position.

Chatted a bit with Felicia’s Glenn over the High Stakes Poker show I blogged about yesterday. He has as many questions about the show as I do. And, he hasn’t seen the whole thing at this point. Doyle seemed disgusted at times. I think a few of them were at max pressure and it started to show. TonyG should have been there. I think he’s one of those that would have ignored all those zeros. Hell, the way the game in Russia has run, this would be a small stakes table. In the spirit of this blog, I’ll end with a copy of the High Stakes poker theme song:
