A lot of hands. A fair amount of rake. And nothing to show for it.

I’d have been a winner without being the bringin king. It seemed like every other hand. But, that is the way it goes some days.

Playing that many hands isn’t my usual gig. If I’m there for a hundred, it’s probably average. What made it interesting was the dynamics. There was a great deal of turnover. I left when it was down to three.

At times it was rompin’ stompin’ play with capping galore. It never got to all good sane players. The results were the suckouts galore. Had a few of those too. But, most of it was deadly in my direction. I lost three times with ace high flushes. It got pretty disturbing and I was down three buyins (30 BB) at one point.

There was a huge amount of slow play. Hard reads when the guy with two rats is still raising. That makes reads interesting. Especially when it is the same guy that bet one low pair from front to end.

In these cheap seats, everybody loves to bluff. Early or late. Good door or a dog. They have to have action. Some days it is great as they do the betting for you and tank or you catch and it works. On the days the outs don’t get there it is pure frustrations.

This seems to be a crossroad point. I’ve maintained about my original buyin but that was strongly influenced by the bonus I cleared. Without that I’d be halved. Now I play for fun and I certainly can afford this modest lost. The problem is one of ego. I’m used to being a winning player. That was never on limit tables and the rake at these levels introduces what appears to be a near unbeatable rake situation.

As of today, I have made 1717.70 in point. That is a ton of rake over the 3 months this account played. There’s no way one can be a profitable player at this limit. The rake amounts to almost 10x my original buyin. I mentioned ego but I better add sense.

I’ve profited playing SnG and Tournaments. But, I’ve mention that I’m a burnout at those. I really enjoy the stud game. My games gotten better but I don’t think its at a level to give 2-4 or 3-6 a try. I’m really wondering where to head next.

ADDENDUM:

If you haven’t upgraded your browser lately, all of them have major fixes in the area of security. Some of the ones that have been fixed are important fixes. There is a big push by the crooks at those still using the older versions. Here is an example. It shows how they are gaming Google to get to you computer. Cracks and porn have always been doing this but now they are trying to look like any site using keywords to get into searches. And, poker is a huge search topic that they likely have tried to get Google hits on. Be careful!
