$21,000,000 doesn’t by a heck of a lot

$21,000,000 hardly means a thing

but give to me every hour, 40 hours every week

that is enough for me to be living like a king.

Poor Antigua-Barbuda is only getting chump change for the damage to their second largest industry – online gambling. They were looking for billion and end up like your kid with the tee shirt from the grandparents that ends: “…and all I got was this lousy tee shirt”

They did get a license to sell our software, dvd’s, cd and to use things like “NFL” without legal reprisal. But, that isn’t much…or is it.

How about they sell us all a license to the whole Magilla? For a $1.98, we get the a license from them to all those P2P goodies that appeal to our lesser side. How about the sell such right to say thepiratebay.com and those other Torrent sites for $19.95. That just might get the RIAA and MPAA’s full attention.

I hope they send the first license to that working mom that got hit with the huge damages when she or her kids download some songs and got sued by the recording industry.

The screaming here would be unbelievable. Gored Ox carcases would litter the legal landscape and attorney would be looking into private jet upgrades from the litigation. Although, what federal court would have jurisdiction? And we never really recognized the courts in the Hague for this kind of action.

ADDENDUM:

The bad lines are flying in the media articles over AOL pulling the plug on Netscape. They are moving to Firefox. Seeing that Netscape Navigator has used the Firefox engine for years, what is the fuss about? Maybe the University of Illinois will be sad. They were the home of the Mosaic browser that gave credence to Cern’s WWW brilliance.
