Here comes the weekend

and it is a big three day one with Indy in the mix. I’ve gone to time trials and race. It is an experience you should have once. Especially the race. It is an all night party in the street alongside the track. Lot of good old boys, trucks with a stock tank full of cold beer on the back, and food stands along the street’s edge.

That said… I’ll still probably play a bit of poker. The weekend certainly can change the mix of players you see on a site. People with a bit of free time often migrate to the site for an hour or two of fun. Fun becomes the emphasis on the weekends. That means the suckouts will go up but the opportunity is there.

Before my PokerTracker took another crapout, I noticed that weekends do well for me. You want to tighten up your game a bit and try to play smaller pots. That goes for limit and no limit. My idea is to grind a bit more than usual. People having fun stay in hands longer or to the end with the darnedest of draws. Maybe one’s middle quality hands will succeed but the guarantee of that is just a smidgen lower on the weekends.

At one time I hated the weekend play. I was doing mostly NL stuff at the time. The problem though was more me than them. We all adjust to a table or should. But, some tables are easier to adjust to than others. The looser weekenders gave me more fits than they do now. It wasn’t them as much as me.

ADDENDUM:

Well, we’re finally going to see 80-degrees here this weekend. Today is still overcast with sub-normal temps. That’s been the pattern all spring. We really didn’t have much of a spring here. My neighborhood has been hoping for a bit of global warming all spring season. Spring has sucked. Hopefully, the pending summer will be more cooperative.
