A Weak Defense of Ultimate Bet

G-Rob says the worst well. And, it doesn’t go overboard in addressing the worst of the worst of the super user scandal discussed in my previous blog. But, I have to admit that I played there a lot. And, if you read about the refund G-Rob got, that seemed eminently fair. The why of all that can’t be defended – just as he points out.

But, the games are softer than most places and if you a low to mid level player like most, you’ll never run into the super users that may or may not have gotten booted off for the last time. (If future ones remain as greedy/stupid as the ones found, they too will be exposed. Faint praise but true.)

As a programmer, I understand how it becomes almost impossible to guarantee anything on the massive software projects that are required for us to play a game that can be operated by an individual with a modest knowledge of the game and the ability to randomize 52 pieces of cardboard or plastic. The ability to manipulate that code by inserting a back door is very possible and will continue to be so. That goes for every site out there. If they neglect auditing changes for a moment, that potential exists. The best don’t and that is a costly and anally difficult task. The others operate like every other business with controls getting abrogated by the race to a great bottom line.

Should you play on Ultimate Bet? That isn’t my call. I’m not at present. But, I have $500 in bonus available that I’m ignoring. One of the great things about that site is their bonus is very fair and probably the easiest to work off at any buy-in level. They offer them regularly and they don’t expire. If you are selective in how you use the site – and that should be part of your game plan on any site – there is a reasoned approach to funding there. It is a bonus whore’s delight.
