Midget? I think not!

Well, Iggy won a spot in ‘The Big One” and I don’t mean the porn version. That couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Actually, it is close though. Felicia’s Glenn won one last year. That turned into a dark comedy before it was over though – lead-up and not his play.

Iggy wrote here for a short while. After his Party Poker went Damnit,– compliments of the UIGEA — he was searching and ended up here for a while.

Ubber is his word. I guess it is as good as any. What he actually is is eclectic. So many of us get lost or bitter or boring or… It is hard to maintain any standards over a long haul. Yet, when he had his ‘A-Game” — and he had that for years – he could make you think without demanding it of you. He made us peer through the cracks to see there were two pictures in the frame.

So, his winning a seat is a joy for all of us who’ve followed him along the pathways. He’s everybody’s friend and one of those you want at your back should you end up in a dark alley of sorts. If he has a mean bone it is wrapped in comedy. Like I said, he makes you come up with some different thoughts/views of the table and everything that surrounds it.

Iggy will never be one of the ‘A-list’ poker bloggers. Instead, he’s they guy they have to look up too.

ADDENDUM:

Funny item to look at on Poker Stars:

They list the town you are from. Some of the ‘wits’ there use the space as a remarks item. You find people from SKREWU or WatchLookinAT. OK, they aren’t in the running for a Pulitzer. It also means they aren’t likely a winning player. Stars needs an address for mailing checks. Most U.S. players could only cash by check. Therefor, they never cash.

Speaking of Midgets and even poker and throwing in a blast from the past:

Arthur Laffer (yes, that one) quote from a recent commencement speech:

Pursuing your dream of prospering will benefit everyone . . . When I graduated from Yale University, we had a serious commencement speaker not like the one you are stuck with today. The commencement speaker was President John F. Kennedy. And the point I’m making today is the same point he made all those years ago. He said, “No American is ever made better off by pulling a fellow American down, and all of us are made better off whenever any one of us is made better off.” He concluded by using the analogy that “a rising tide raises all boats.” Never forget or be ashamed of the fact that pursuing your own self interest furthers everyone’s interest. Without you, the poor would be poorer.

Well, maybe that doesn’t quite nail it 100- percent for poker players… :)

I haven’t really updated my Stud ’success’ of late. It doesn’t look as bad as it sometimes feels when a cooler kicks in – like right now.
