I talked about a pros approach in the last My Bad. Dario had a clue but not a winner. Let me proceed to talk about a guy without the clue or the winner. Here is the hand history stolen from a post on PokerNews that was from mguerrera:

When will i get some justice.
Mguerrera ol’ pal, the answer is when you quit looking for coin flips when you still have a playable stack. You were in a major tournament with slow blind progressions. Yes, you had the short stack at the table. But your ‘M’ still approached 15. You were needy and approaching desperate but you hadn’t arrived there. Your play was hardly inventive or different from a freeroll player.
A hand history does not tell the whole story
I had previously written a long reply but seeing as how it failed to go through i’ll write a shorter one.
Im mguerrera. Funnily enough i was just searching for a forum i was a member on but had the pleasure to stumble upon a website that was publicly shaming my play.
Now, first of all let me say if i had my time again i would of most likely flat called or folded this hand, and grinded out for the money. But it was at 8am Australian Time, the tourney started at around 4am, and i hadnt got any sleep so i was pretty tired, which i know is my bad, cause i wasnt paying attention as to how many people were left and who got payed.
My frustration for this hand comes from a few things. Within the last two hours, i had been dealt AA and QQ both twice each, and didnt have a cent to show for it.. It just seemed there was no action when i had a hand. Also, as you say there is no way of knowing the previous situations before this.. Well, i had my AK cracked by a River Q on a QJ pre-flop all in that crippled me pretty badly, which had me frustrated.
Now, daringer, who had the KQ.. the last 6 hands he had stolen my bb from the button, and i folded everytime waiting for half a hand. Now, i considered myself to be a extremely tight play this tournament,, while he had been very up and down all tournament, catching a few suckouts to get where he was. Now, when he raised again, and i pushed with my 66, i did it cause i had a hand to make a stand, and i thought it was a steal or a semi steal which it was in the case of KQ. When seeing KQ off, i just didnt see how you could call KQ there and think you could be good, but thats just me, i didnt think he had amazing price to call either but you could make the argument.
In all honesty, i wish he had just flopped a K or Q. Just the way it felt on the river got to me.
But the way you talk about me in this.. do i ever claim to be a poker pro? Im still in high school here in Australia, im 18 and i play because i love the game and have found some success, and manage a little blog to give me something to do. I dont do this full time or anything, i was just looking for a place to bitch got i was pissed off.. and now im being torn up for my play. Nice.
But oh well. Thanks for showing people just how bad i play.
- mguerrera.
Well, we’ve all played as poorly at times. It is part of the game. What isn’t something I’d condone is the whining. That goes for 18-year old and old bastards like me.
If you want a counterpoint to your play, it isn’t hard to find. You risked too much for what you had. You did it at a time when people besides yourself are frustrated.
Like I said, I and countless others have done worse. We just didn’t scream our frustration at the world.
