A couple of weeks ago I hit the pause button where this blog is concerned. I believe most people who know me are aware of the reason why, but for those who don’t, the reason was due to the death of my father.
He’d lived a long, full life – 90 years worth. I returned to Oregon to be with my family, which ended up being the “B-12″ shot in the arm I was in dire need of. I wrapped myself in the comfort of my brother, niece, nephew, niece-in-law, grand-nephew and grand-niece and was sans internet, sans poker, sans work.
We shared a ton of laughter, memories, and celebrated my grand-nephew’s eleventh birthday. I also learned that my niece and niece-in-law are both pregnant and due in December!

He goes to eleven!
I’ll be back to full blogging mode post haste. But, first, I’ve got a lot of catching up to do. My Google Reader feed list is bloated and will take a while to get through! I’ve missed a lot of doings – tournaments, events, etc. I hope you’ll stay with me.
I do want to say to all of you who took the time to comment, e-mail, IM, and call, your words of comfort and condolence were greatly appreciated and they went a long way to help me through this rough patch. I can never thank you enough. Truly.
And I must extend and extra special thanks to Linda and the Pokerworks crew for allowing me the time away.
My condolences to you and your family, Maudie. It’s good that you were able to spend time with your loved ones.
Sorry to hear about your father. I know it was very hard for you just to shut down the house so this must be extraordinarily difficult. My heartfelt condolences.
It has been close to a year since my father was killed by a car while walking in a parking lot. His death still reverberates in surprising ways on an almost daily basis. Keep taking the time to fully process all the feelings that will come up for you. May his memory always be a blessing.
Had no idea, my condolences Maudie.
My heart goes out to you and your family.
