The king is dead… long live the king
As I write this, the last four players of the WSOP are ambling back from their dinner break, fed and watered and ready to battle it out for the poker crown - the World Championship.

I’d planned to do the ESPN final table pay-for-view, but plum forgot all about it. I’ve had my nose to the grindstone both at the eight to five and at home where I’m prepping for a weekend with friends and a whole lotta poker - a little mini-vacation right in my own back yard, so to speak.
I’ve also spent a goodly amount of the last twenty-four hours with my new techo-gadget. Yup, I’m a lemming and got me one of them iPhones. After a rough start, I’m loving it.
But, enough about me. I want to encourage all of you out there to raise a glass of your favorite beverage and drink a hearty toast to all the poker players who dared to grab the brass ring over the last five weeks, to those who lived the WSOP dream and got their jewelry, to the dealers and staff who managed to do a good job (ignore the ones who didn’t, this isn’t for them), and especially to the bloggers and reporters, the die-hards - our friends and internet neighbors - who’ve blazed the trail in poker reporting this last few years.
Cheers to everyone - job well done, well done, indeed!

I know I’m leaving people out, and I really hate that. The list above is off the top of my head. I’ve tried to get a complete list from Pokerworks, Pokernews and elsewhere, but it’s darn near impossible. I will offer a plea: poker sites - list your writers!

Amen to the kudos going out to everyone who worked so hard to cover the WSOP this year. My hat is off to them!
