Razor’s Edge

I played The Mookie tonight. Briefly.

Ran QQ into AA in about an orbit and a half, a fact which would usually make me shrug my shouders, mutter “bleeping cooler” to myself and move on. But really, I shoulda known, based on the action.

My QQ was UTG and lightning re-raised me from MP. In blogger events, that means one of three things: AA, KK or The Hammer. But I gave him the rest of my stack on the jack-high flop anyway. Sometimes I play bad.

Which is not such a great thing with the spare bankroll I currently possess. As far as blogger events go, no biggie. The buy-in is for the entertainment and that’s not a bad way to look at my meager online balance. As -EV as it is, I’d prefer to spend that spare change playing with my friends. But my early exit (which was NOT Gigli, for the record), eliminated the entertainment value of my eleven bucks, though I was pleased to see my esteemed colleague, Maudie take down top prize. I heart Maudie.

So I set about recovering it. With bared teeth and malice in my heart.

For a third of my remaining bankroll, I took a shot at Midnight Madness on Full Tilt. I promptly doubled up with Big Slick and took my biggie stack to war with top pair and the nut flush draw only to be out-drawn by a baby flush draw who made runner-runner straight. Only my
