On the first day, my body was surprised.
On the second day, it rebelled.
As of this writing, I am 36-hours into life as a Non-Smoker. If that sounds a little premature, I understand your skepticism. That is, however, the terminology recommended by my guru, Allan Carr, in his best-selling “The Easy Way to Quit Smoking.” See, those of us who have been so long enslaved by the devil weed are actually giving up nothing. We are simply turning our back on the regular inhaling of poison. As soon as I stubbed out that last ciggy on Sunday night at 10 p.m., I mentally
Good luck with quitting.
I can see the benefits of avoiding a replacement theray. I did not smoke long or much when I smoked. Last time I had a cigarette was 25+ years ago. I took up chewing on coffee stirrers as my replacement when I quit. To this day I still find myself chewing on one with it sticking out of my mouth like a cigarette despite me having no craving for nicotine.
Well done, Speaker. It’s not an easy road to walk, but it can be done. Hang in there and remember that it’s okay to complain and it’s okay to ask people for help if you need it.
You owe this to yourself and the boy. Have strength.
May you inspire thousands of others to do the same. Good luck!
Good luck to you.

Good luck, Mr. Speaker. You keep it up and the Mrs. and I will buy you dinner to any place you choose in Vegas.
Jesus is probably really proud of you right now. Nice goin!
is this time going to be different from any of the other 12 times you’ve quit in the last four years?
history would suggest no, but we’re all pulling for you. hfg
That’s why we sent you that liquor. You can replace one vice with another.
Seriously, good luck with it. Without sounding ghey, you have my thoughts as you battle this tough addiction.
I understand that you don’t want to use any kind of replacement which is a regular food (gum, M&M’s, coffee stirrers, etc.)
However, I wholeheartedly recommend using patches, those things help alleviate the physical problems you have right now. The first time I tried to quit I felt like I was going into psychosis after a day without smoking. This stopped me from trying again for a long time, until someone recommended patches.
I can assure you 1000% that those patches will not be addictive. They give off a regular flow of nicotine into your blood, but they do so through the skin. This will create a sore skin under the patch, and you have to alternate spots every day.
I used those patches for about three weeks and it was giving me a hard enough time to stop the habit, and I was grateful I didn’t have to deal with the physical part.
Finally a tip that helped me a lot: If you feel you are craving for a cigarette, take a really deep breath. It will create a nice tingling feeling in your lungs, much like the intake of your first cigaret would be, but it’s actually very healthy
And be prepared for a taste explosion in a couple of days
this simultaneously makes me want to quit, and not. good luck. perhaps you can inspire me.
Prop bets anyone?
Stop looking at me funny. Can’t believe you degenerates haven’t offered odds yet.
My tobacco stocks better not drop because of you.
No replacement therapy? Wow. Good luck! Do keep us posted.
