Felt like firing up the poker machine last night for some fun. I got home too late for The Mookie (note to self: Maybe register early, since it’s double-stack), but I wanted to find a similar spot to play, so I jumped into a $2 180-person SnG and a 300 FPP satellite for $75 tokens on Full Tilt, a level which I figured was commensurate with the usual blogger tourney.

I’m generally not one for cover songs, “twists” on the classics or “new and improved.” I”m a traditionalist.

Unless there’s wagering involved. Vegas Hold ‘Em anyone?

There’s a new kid on the poker block, Duplicate Poker, which offers a twist on traditional ring games, Sit ‘n’ Gos and multi-table tournmanents. The site is also giving stuff away.

I hadn’t realy planned to play much poker this weekend. But then I won the seat to today’s FTOPS Event and felt like I needed to work some dormant muscles–the ones that don’t correspnd to donkitude–and played the $28K Guaranteed on Full Tilt last night.

I think. Recall is fuzzy, but I’ve got some scars that prove I was there.

I signed on to Full Tilt last night to check out the action in the Battle of the Bloggers Freeroll and…well…I’m an addict, so I decided to play some myself, since I didn’t qualify for the A-List Tourney.

And I ruined it for everybody.

My online poker hiatus is in full effect. I did donk around over the weekend, managing one cash in Full Tilt’s $10 Re-Buy, which doesn’t get a nickname yet (like the ones on Stars and the long-lamented Paradise), because it was pretty reasonable in field size and play.

But aside from that, I was mostly terrible and the last online hand I will play probably for the rest of the month (largely due to travel and other commitments) will be a perfect reminder why I should take a little break.
