Charity Report: Celebrity Tourney Raises Over $500k for Darfur
On the evening of May 8th, celebrities and professional poker players gathered at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in Southern California to host a poker tournament on behalf of Ante Up for Africa, an event hosted by the group’s organizers Annie Duke and Don Cheadle. The combined funds raised from the tournament, silent auction, and contribution from San Manuel, was over $500,000.

Charity Report: Tournament Raises More Than $60k for Charities
The Kentucky Derby Poker Championship took place on Saturday, May 3rd at Caesars Indiana to raise money for three organizations, and the results showed that more than $60,000 was raised. Poker pros Phil Hellmuth, Jr. and Robert Williamson III were the hosts of the event that prompted 30 players to buy in at $2,500 each.

Charity Report: Celebrities Ante Up for Africa at San Manuel
As the Ante Up for Africa organization gears up for its 2008 tournament amidst the World Series of Poker, it will conduct a smaller, invitation-only tournament on May 8th to raise additional funds. The event will take place at the San Manuel Casino in Southern California with 120 celebrities and invited guests.

NSPCA to Receive $325K from Harman Charity Tournament
The inaugural Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament was held in 2007 to raise money for the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA). After raising $130,000 and allowing the no-kill shelter to build a new wing to house more animals in the facility, Harman set out to do better in 2008.

Charity Report: Brad Garrett Hosts April 20 Charity Tourney in
Comedian, actor, and poker enthusiast Brad Garrett is set to host a charity poker tournament on April 20th at Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the 1736 Family Crisis Center, an organization that operates numerous shelters for victims of domestic violence.

Harman to Support NSPCA Again with April Tourney
Jennifer Harman is an advocate for animals, most specifically in the form of her support of the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA). Last year, she hosted a charity tournament and raised over $130,000 for the no-kill animal shelter. Last month, she raised $30,000 via an online charity tournament on Full Tilt Poker. And she is prepared to do more.
