Since he wasn’t able to make it to play the previous day, Phil Hellmuth finally showed up to kick off the start of day 2. He proceeded to walk around the room, microphone in hand and talk to some of the 291 remaining players on day 2.

I’m off to the Aruba Poker Classic in…well duh, Aruba!After meeting up with Adam ‘Roothlus’ Levy and his brother at the terminal in Miami we hopped on the plane and I promptly lost money playing gin with Adam – after I just taught him the game. Awesome.

The Legends of Poker tournament series at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles is always popular among poker players. Not only does it provide some tournaments with buy-ins as low as $300, which is a welcome price from the summer of WSOP events, but the Bike is also a player favorite in the L.A. area.

The third stop of the inaugural Latin American Poker Tour has wrapped up in the beautiful resort town of Punta del Este in Uruguay, and Spanish player Jose Miguel Espinar has claimed victory. He is taking $241,735 back to Valencia, Spain, along with another LAPT title for the European contingent.

After the initial rush of the PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour, day 2 featured down pouring rain and another tournament starting up. There was a $1000 second chance event and over 150 players showed up to give tournament poker in Costa Rica another go. Sam Simon, creator of the Simpsons, talk show host Montel Williams, and LA Dodger Orel Hershiser showed up to participate.

On May 3rd and 4th, exactly 53 of the top female poker players in the world gathered in London for the third annual Ladbrokes European Ladies Championship. And out of a field that included players like WSOP Europe main event champion Annette Obrestad, it was Liv Boeree who won the title.

Erich Kollmann came into the final with the chip lead and the native Austrian made sure the Poker News Cup would stay in Austria as he took home the title without ever having to play a hand heads up.

115 players returned to action at the Poker News Cup Austria with hopes of making it to day 3. By the time play ended, 31 players remained. As is usually the case, the early chip leaders were nowhere to be found when the day was over. Harald Suschegg started the day with the chip lead and T-6 Poker pro Henrik Gwinner was 2nd.

Only 66 players started day 1A of the Austria Poker News Cup and when play ended, 33 of them had moved on to day 2. Day 1B promised to deliver more players and action and did not disappoint. 135 joined the action bringing the total to 201 and making the prize pool €120,600.
