The Nevada Gaming Policy Committee moved back into active status when it was reconstituted by Gov. Brian Sandoval. Is online poker coming to Nevada?
The committee's purpose now is to assist Nevada's bid in becoming the USA's one-stop shop for online poker regulation. Up for discussion today is “maintaining Nevada’s role as the intellectual, technological and operational capital of the world-wide gaming industry.”
There's a lot going on as Nevada's politicians, casino execs, and regulators prefer a federal online poker plan but there are also considerations for “modifications to statutory barriers affecting online gaming regulation, including alternatives to federal approvals.”
It's possible that Nevada will expect to fingerprint online poker affiliates and force them to pay a $3,000 application fee according to CalvinAyre.com.
