That's a combo isn't it? Here's how it ties together, Greg Solano is a former Santa Fe County Sheriff that earned $25,000 for illegally selling county owned property.
Solano was caught selling gun holsters, office supplies, and bullet-proof vests online and then putting the cash in his pocket. He resigned in November 2010. Last year he pleaded guilty to five counts of felony fraud as part of a deal where he would receive a reduced sentence - he served six weeks in jail.
Solano recently started selling handmade clocks and religious pieces through Facebook after becoming a woodworker about six years ago. Now he's in the mood to make poker chip trays that come in pine or oak. He made the first tray for his poker-playing friends that used pieces of candy instead of poker chips.
"I'm trying to just do everything right and pay back the restitution that is required of me," Solano told the Santa Fe New Mexican on Thursday. "I'm trying to go back to some sense of normalcy with my family, life and everything."
