Phil Ivey backing Greg Merson

The World Series of Poker Main Event is in action now with the final three players. Greg Merson, one of the three finalists, will have Phil Ivey in his corner as he competes for the championship.

Merson sported a patch for Iveypoker.com (a freeplay poker/training website) on Monday night. Ivey sat in Merson's rooting section on stage in the Penn & Tell Theater with a bodyguard standing by. Ivey stayed less than an hour.

Ivey praised Merson in an interview that was posted on espn.com, “I love his demeanor and I think he’ll be calm. He’ll know when to put the pressure on and he’ll know when to back off. I’m expecting him to win, hopefully.”
