The beginning of Annie Duke and the game of poker is not unlike a lot of other pros who eventually make it big. In fact, her earlier days set up the typical cliché for someone who would go on to do great things in the game. She was introduced to poker at a very early age, grew up in a home where playing cards was a household hobby, and her family took winning very seriously.

Some poker players are strictly against all other forms of gambling. Ted Forrest is not one of those poker players. If you were to look in the dictionary next to the words “propositional bet,” there would be a picture of Forrest himself, and if there isn’t, it would be my guess that Forrest would bet Mr. Webster himself that it could be by the end of the year.

Of all the stories we’ve done in the “Where Are They Now,” series, no one player has a more recognizable name than Phil Hellmuth. More than a few poker players are well known throughout the entire poker community, however, it’s arguable that Hellmuth has become one, if not the only, “household names” of poker.

Imagine that you are sitting across the felt from easily one of the best poker players to ever belly up to a poker table. Each of you has thousands of dollars worth of chips on the table with the sole purpose of cleaning out the other. After a little bit of playing, the chip count has remained around even when all of a sudden you look down on a monster hand.
