What was previously known as the Aladdin has recently been renovated and is now called Planet Hollywood. The new resort is trendy, modern, hip and cool. I’ve always been a big fan of the vast shopping at the Aladdin, but now I can say that I’m in love with the whole package – especially the brand new poker room!

On Wednesday, October 10, California Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed legislation that would have allowed a 45% increase in the number of gaming tables in some card clubs without voter approval. He commented that the bill would have created "a significant exemption to the current moratorium on expanding local gaming establishments.

Although it's somewhat controversial, Ladies Only Poker Tournaments are sweeping the nation. My first experience with a ladies only event was when I covered the Ladies Event this summer at the WSOP. I thought I would walk into a room full of gossiping, fashionable, and catty ladies with manicured nails and stiletto heels.
