Although it's somewhat controversial, Ladies Only Poker Tournaments are sweeping the nation. My first experience with a ladies only event was when I covered the Ladies Event this summer at the WSOP. I thought I would walk into a room full of gossiping, fashionable, and catty ladies with manicured nails and stiletto heels.

This week, Players Network announced that it has launched two Video On Demand (VOD) television channels on TiVo. The shows, "Gaming Lifestyle" and "Vegas on Demand" are available to digital subscribers for easy download to the TiVo box but will not be available on traditional channels.

Ultimate Bet's online pro Mark ‘Poker H0' Kroon lets you in his head as he plays the 2007 Aruba Poker Classic. Day 1b - Before the event Yesterday I played a bunch of sit-n-go's and just got used to playing with chips, reading people. I didn't want to play in any tournaments. I won two seats yesterday to the main event so I had a nice little profit, $10,000.

After all the fun activities and partying going on down in Aruba it seems we all almost forgot...there was a big tournament to play! Nothing better than a 2.74 million dollar prize pool to help you remember, though. 548 players in total registered and appeared in Aruba to take their shot at an $800,000 first prize.

Everyone in the poker world knows about Aruba, especially this time of year. The Ultimate Bet Aruba Classic has just kicked off and is sure to be Hot-Hot-Hot. Prior to the first Ultimate Bet Aruba Classic, which was held and televised in 2002, Aruba was mainly known to cruisers. Now, every October, it is the "IN" place to be for poker players as well.

The home poker game was a popular get-together even before Chris Moneymaker entered an online satellite on Poker Stars and went on to win some big poker tournament. A game of cards was a good excuse for the guys to get together and burn a few extra cigars, or for the housewives to bet extra coupons, remember Mr. Mom?But now? Holy cow!
