The Full Tilt Online Poker Series is almost halfway done as events 8 through 11 are in the bag. Event #8 kicked things off Sunday and was a heads-up No Limit Hold’em contest with $500 + $35 buy-ins. The prize pool barely exceeded the $250,000 guaranteed amount by $6,000 as 512 players bought into the heads-up tournament.

Plenty more action has taken place at the Full Tilt Online Poker Series as events #4 through #7 have come to a conclusion. First up, Friday’s Event #4 was a Pot Limit Hold’em tournament with buy-ins of $200 + $16. Marco Traniello was the host and the 1,076 players buying-in helped exceed the $200,000 guaranteed prize pool to the tune of $215,200.

Back for another year, the ever-popular Full Tilt Online Poker Series kicked off Wednesday with Event #1. The first tournament in a series of 24, taking place from May 7th to May 18th, saw WPT Championship winner David Chui as the host. Event #1 was No Limit Hold’em and buy-ins were $200 + $16 with the tables set at 6-Max.

On Saturday, April 26, six players came to the final table of the WPT World Championship in search of one of the most coveted titles in poker, not to mention one of the largest first prizes. Under the lights and cameras, and in front of an avid audience of fans and friends, the six who had fought through a field of 535 players were ready to get down to business.

The WPT Ladies Championship was the culmination of a series of five tournaments in the inaugural season of the WPTL. A total of 150 players entered the $1,500 buy-in tournament at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, and on April 14th, the six final table players were determined.

In January of 2008, the World Poker Tour launched the WPT Ladies League (WPTL). A series of five tournaments would take place with buy-ins ranging from $300 to $1,500 to allow female players to play in a tournament environment, and the final table of the championship event would play out in front of the TV cameras for a WPT episode on GSN.

The highly-anticipated and always well-attended FTOPS on Full Tilt Poker is set to return in May. The FTOPS VIII will be held from May 7 to May 18 with 24 events and more than $10 million in guaranteed prize money.FTOPS (Full Tilt Online Poker Series) debuted in August of 2006 with eight events and a total prize pool of a little more than $1 million.

When the final table of the WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic began on Wednesday, April 9th, the two names that stood out were the seasoned pros – Erik Seidel and Ted Forrest. It was even more exciting that they were the two chip leaders at the table, even though the other four players had just as much motivation to win as the better known pros.

Along with the WPT, and its reporters and television production crew, players come from all over the world to play the $10,000 buy-in tournament.
