Patrik Antonius Leads Day 2b at WSOP Europe
Patrik Antonius ended the day much like he began it, atop the leaderboard at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe. 119 players survived Day 1b to return to the Empire Casino in London and chase their WSOP Europe bracelet dreams. Antonius was not the only famous name in the field by a long shot, joining Johnny Chan, Dario Alioto, Tony G and Isabelle Mercier, among others seeking their shot at the gold bracelet. Joining Antonius among the top chip stacks were Shaun Deeb and Kenny Tran, as the top chips stacks looked like this to kick off Day 2b -Patrik Antonius - 76,150

The action started off hot and heavy, with World Heads Up Champion Jeff Kimber, Justin ‘ZeeJustin' Bonomo, Allen Cunningham, and Neil ‘Bad Beat' Channing all heading to the rail in the early rounds. Dario Alioto was the last man standing with a chance to win multiple bracelets in the inaugural WSOP Europe, but his dreams of a second bracelet ended early on Day 2b when his A♠-9♣ was dominated by Adam Junglen's A♦-Q♣. No help came on the board for Alioto, and he was bounced long before dinner.
Shaun Deeb's tenure at the top of the chip stacks was ended by James Keys when Keys won a coin flip with A♥-K♠. Deeb shoved preflop with Q♠-Q♥, and Keys caught an Ace in the door to send Deeb to the rail.
The ever-talkative Tony G was nearly silenced early in the evening by Isabelle Mercier, but caught a King on the river to win a coin flip of his own. Tony G held A♣-K♣ to Mercier's Queens, and picked up the K♦ on the river to put a big dent in Mercier's stack and put more wind in Tony G's sails. Tony G put Mercier on her bike a few hands later when she pushed all in with 6♣-6♠. Tony G woke up with K♦-K♠, and flopped a set on a board of 8♦-9♥-K♣. No runner-runner for Mercier, and she was eliminated.
Adam Junglen spent a lot of his tournament at the featured table, and most of it near the top of the chip stacks, but ran into a bigger stack and a bigger hand in Aleksander Vathne just before play ended for the evening and was eliminated. Vathne pushed all-in over the top of Junglen's preflop re-raise, and Junglen called with A♣-K♥. Vathne turned over A♣-A♠, and Junglen caught only one King on the board. Not enough help for the 19-year-old poker star, and Vathne vaulted to second overall in chips.
