Only a few months after the broadcast of the last of Season III Poker After Dark episodes, the fourth season of shows is ready to begin airing on July 14th. And it is back in its favorite format – six-player freezeout – but with a few high-stakes cash games mixed in to spice up the action.

The cash game format will actually kick off the new season on July 14th as a full week of a high-stakes no-limit cash game will play out. Players for the week include Tom Dwan, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Baxter, Allen Cunningham, Guy Laliberte, and David Peat. The two lesser-known names are cash game specialists, Laliberte is the CEO of Cirque de Soleil, and Dwan is the online pro player who has frustrated Hellmuth to no end during online play and the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship . The rivalry, amongst others that will likely emerge, will air for five nights in a row for the public to witness. With a minimum buy-in of $100K and a maximum of $250K with $50K rebuys allowed, the first week is sure to be an exciting one.

The second week of cash game play won’t air until October 13th, at which time the table will consist of Patrik Antonius, Dee Tiller, Howard Lederer, Doyle Brunson, Gabe Kaplan, and Eli Elezra. In the meantime, the $120,000 winner-take-all freezeout action that Poker After Dark viewers are used to will air for fans looking for that up-close view that the traditional PAD shows provide.

In addition to a change of format, viewers will notice that Marinela Pereyra is no longer the hostess of the show, having been replaced by Leeann Tweeden, the hostess of the most recent season of the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.

Poker After Dark airs, as before, at 2:05am on Monday night and continuing through Friday night. And on Saturday nights each week, following the broadcast of Saturday Night Live, the special director’s cut episodes will air. And every single show is said to be available for same-day viewing on the poker section of the NBC Sports website.
