Tournaments
In May of 2008, Full Tilt Poker embarked on an experiment to host the first online high-stakes heads-up tournament. And with all 64 seats filled up quickly, the $25K Heads-Up World Championship went on to be a huge success. Names like David Singer, Andy Bloch, and Patrik Antonius made it to the quarterfinals, and seasoned pro Singer eventually took down the $560,000 first prize.

With the back-to-back political conventions, the Poker Players Alliance took the opportunity to make their presence known at both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. And since the PPA had the chance to incorporate a very deserving and appropriate charity into the mix, the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) is the organization that benefits from it.

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) is in its final days of the ninth installment of the ever-popular run of tournaments. Having started on August 6th, the majority of the 25 events have been played and millions of dollars has been given away.

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) has joined forces with the Paralyzed Veterans of America to host a fundraiser at the site of the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado. On the evening of Tuesday, August 26th, a charity poker tournament is scheduled to take place on the club level of Coors Field to benefit paralyzed vets.

The third stop of the inaugural Latin American Poker Tour has wrapped up in the beautiful resort town of Punta del Este in Uruguay, and Spanish player Jose Miguel Espinar has claimed victory. He is taking $241,735 back to Valencia, Spain, along with another LAPT title for the European contingent.
