The residents in Aspen, Colorado put together a series of charity events to send people in need to India for a groundbreaking embryonic stem cell therapy treatment. This new treatment will help people with incurable or irreversible diseases! The therapy isn’t cheap; it runs about $40,000 for 2 months. One of the charity events being held was of course, a game of No Limit Texas Hold-Em.

Operation All In is a benefit poker tournament scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 12 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Already promised to play in the event are 2006 World Series of Poker main event champion Jamie Gold and Lois and Clark actor Dean Cain.The $550 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament will be held from 1pm to 6pm on the 12th, and seating is limited to 15 tables.

Over 628 poker players invaded Vegas last week for the World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Classic. Held at the Bellagio for a week, I decided to drop in for the start for a little work and play.The event was broken up into two day 1’s as are most big events these days. The first day saw the likes of numerous pros spread out across the casino and in the poker room.

The Sixth Annual Five Diamond World Poker Classic kicked off in late November with a series of events ranging from $1,500 no-limit hold’em events to the $15,000 buy-in main event. As usual, the Bellagio draws players from around the world because of its plush accommodations, juicy cash games, and player-friendly tournament structures.

There were 32 players left in the PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague event when Day 3 kicked off, and it took little time to cut that field down to the final nine. Nicky Goodall started things off with a bang, busting out on the first hand of the day. Goodall got all his chips in preflop after Juha Lauttamus raised. Nedzib Suman re-raised all in, and Lauttamus folded.

The action was fast and furious as Day 2 kicked off at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague event, with 75 players heading to the rail in the first two levels. That’s nearly half the 192-player field that started the day! Among the first wave of bust outs were Nicky Power, Rolf Slotbloom and 2007 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Katja Thater.

179 top names from around the world descended on the Star City Hotel and Casino in Sydney for the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour Grand Final. Among the big names playing on Day 1a were Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Mel Judah, Mark Vos and local boy Eric Assadourian, who free rolled into this event after winning the APPT Macau High Rollers tournament last month.

Titan Poker ’s European Championship of Online Poker series is done, and the turnout for this first-ever event was extraordinary! Nearly all of the events exceeded the guaranteed prize pools, and the few that missed the guarantees created very small overlays for the players.
